The Waldo Theatre is not only a beautifully restored performance and movie venue; it is a community organization, reopened in 2021after years of closure to unify and strengthen our region through performing arts and educational programs. We are deeply committed to the stewardship ofthis historic landmark and are working to spark an economic and cultural renaissance in downtown Waldoboro and across the Midcoast region. Our board, staff, and volunteers believe in the transformative power of the arts to engage, educate, and entertain. Through activities like our signature youth arts program, master classes by professional artists, and collaborations with other non-profits, the Waldo seeks to enrich the region’s cultural offerings for all residents, regardless of means, and enhance the quality of life for all.
